I definitely wouldn't rule it out. TF looks like it may be a "last teams standing" type of affair, with China being China and their lack of balance across the events, France mismagaing themselves into oblivion, and Italy's Hunger Games selection. Brazil silver and GB bronze seems like a not unlikely scenario at this point.

I would lose my mind if Brazil won silver. I truly need/want that to happen.

China seem stronger than they have done in a while and have a few routines that are high D and high E where as GB have neither, and rely on everyone hitting quite average routines. A China fall on beam could easily outscore a GB hit

Good to know. I may get too quick to underestimate the Chinese - they've underdelivered in somebig comps lately, but they do have the goods.

The team has already been announced, just not publicly. The timing of it suggests she’s been named an alternate

This would be pretty much ideal to me. I'd love to see Japan coming back from 2022

I don't agree with this at all. None of them have put up higher than 13.4 on FX this season and their max UB score looks to be 13.9. I think they're looking squarely at an 8th place finish again.

I would not rule out Italy to medal if they can repeat their Euros performance without Asia

I also wouldn’t rule out the fed breaking at least one more gymnast, though. If they can keep 5 of their top athletes healthy, they could be in the mix for sure.

LMAO, this is such a great summary of her gymnastics career. I remember thinking 6 or 7 years ago "how great she is going to be for British Gymnastics", but...
