Event (FIG) 2025 Worlds, Women AA: As the field thins, who will capitalize?

Frankly, were everyone healthy and interested, Andrade and Jones would be the clear favorites. But with all these people out, who's going to capitalize?

Neymour... For me the big question is vault.

14.0 if she does the DTY. 13.4-ish if she doesn't.

Her new floor... That middle pass was a mess, but it's otherwise looking solid.

i would love to see Nemour win the AA. Aside from what vault she throws, beam is the other big question mark. for the past few seasons she's put up a handful of great beam routines like the one above but hasn't pulled that level of routine off at a worlds or olympics. The good news for her is that I don't think that she'll need that great a routine to get the AA title considering the diminished field. But if she's throwing a full on vault, she'll likely need something closer to that routine on beam to take the title.

I watched Giulia Perroti's UB, BB, and FX from the Italian Championships. She has some good skills and a very nice performance quality. I couldn't find a recent V, but she could be in the mix with a DTY or even a semi-decent FTY.

Yes! Does Zhang Qingying ever vault more than a Tsuk full? Wong should be able to really distance herself with an improved Cheng (love that she stuck the vault at Nationals but she was very much in danger of coming up short).

If Perotti has a DTY, she's a dark horse for gold — kind of the way Morgan Hurd was in 2017 at the same age.

I would love Perrotti to medal, been following her for a while now, love her gymnastics! Maybe Visser but not with an anemic FTY, at least Nemour's FTY has some power behind it. Regarding Flavia, I am very much against her tkatchev's which barely go over the bars.

Melnikova — she didn't look "World Champion" in Paris, but it was her first international meet in years.
14.0ish DTY She's trained Chengs, but hasn't done one in competition recently
14.5ish she fell at the Paris World Cup, but is capable
I feel like this score could be all over the place
Tons of spins. She's still doing that front full, which is a pit of deductions. Sigh. Not sure if she will upgrade to a full-twisting double layout, but it adds a lot to the D-score because she then moves the double layout to a second pass. I wish she would replace the dismount with front to double back or something.
