I think that is exactly right. We are now really starting to see WAG sans Marta. I am not going to add the obvious . . . .

We have the first generation of No Marta WAG being led by two former gymnasts who were part of the first generation of Marta's reign, so we'll see how this goes.

I just don’t see the value in this meet? What does it tell USAG about their athletes? Does it benefit any of the athletes?

I believe they are picking the teams for Gymnix, Antalya World Cup, and DTB from this. It's also a qualifier to Nationals.

On the MAG side they are naming the National Team here. I think I read somewhere the Jr WAG National team was being re-ordered here as well?

Camp would essentially be a meet too, we just wouldn't get to watch. I get the impression that the guys liked Winter Cup better when it was a big men's meet in Vegas (tied in with development meet as well?)

No one in the world has ever managed to run a dominant WAG program whilst giving a shit about the athletes. That’s the unpleasant truth.

I mean, they're holding this competition either way for MAG. Might as well let the WAG get some more podium competition experience. Plus it gives them something to attach the Nastia Cup to.
