Annalisa Milton just dismounted beam with a RO layout full. Granted, her's was way nicer, but that was my dismount as an immensely shitty level 9 in the 1990s.

No one in the world has ever managed to run a dominant WAG program whilst giving a shit about the athletes. That’s the unpleasant truth.
Very true. That was the "obvious" I left out of my statement. It is indeed the unpleasant truth but the truth nevertheless.

Her bars still still an absolute mess, but the difference between this year and last year for Alessia Rosa is amazing. Last year I seriously questioned why they had her doing elite.

Jayla Hang did a booming DTY. And then a high but definitely pikey Lopez. I wouldn't be surprised if it was downgraded to a Pod.

Occasionally some high school gymnasts have this dismount. Maybe she's watering down the dismount and then adding difficulty later in the season? Or navigating an injury?

8 people did two vaults, that's the most I ever remember seeing at a US National competition in the last two decades.

ETA: I just realized they're only showing the top 8 on the screen, so possibly even more than 8 did two vaults??

2. Jayla Hang
3. Evey Lowe

Bars

2. Brooke Pierson

My only comment about this meet is that USAG bars is in an absolute mess. 50% of this group cannot even kip cast properly.
I blame it on the damn Hopes program. These gyms are pushing girls into Hopes as level 8s and not really doing the development program, which was the intention. Instead of easing into elite while at the same time excelling in the develop program, they're skipping DP. You cannot be a great level 10 without a great KCH. Yet so many of these girls skip level 10 or just do a couple meets here and there while their coaches have them throwing as much difficulty as possible with the most garbage fucking basics. (coughRobersonCough)

If they all had to go through DP level 10 and qualify to nationals before they could test elite, things would look VERY different.
