Also Oregon State and FISK. But they are dueling each other this weekend!

Super exciting to have 12 teams still in the hunt for regionals. It will be a nail biter to see which 3 claim their spot.
West Virginia started the surge by jumping into the top 36 after last meet.

Rutgers trying to qualify a full team to regionals in 14 years.

CMU trying to hold 36.

Washington desperate to move into the top 36 at a home regionals.

Will there be championship upsets?

Best weekend of the year!

The excitement will continue all the way to MPSFs starting at 6 pm ET on Saturday with UC Davis.

Only WVU, Towson, and Rutgers have a higher possible NQS than UC Davis from the 12 bubble teams. So let's say WVU and Rutgers do what they need to, to be above UC Davis' highest possible NQS.

UC Davis would still be in it because Towson's status would be undetermined at the start of MPSF's. Towson would be an hour into EAGLs. So, if Towson falls apart during that first hour, then UC Davis is definitely still in it because they could pass Towson.

And if Towson does great during the first hour, we still wouldn't know if Towson is going to hit the next two events to get the final score they need to lock out UC Davis while UC Davis is starting.

This scenario depends on Rutgers getting the score they need to lock above UC Davis. If they don't, then UC Davis doesn't have to pass Towson, just whatever school is 36th as of 6 pm ET on Saturday.

Also,
Arkansas petitioned the NCAA to let them join the Fisk, Oregon State meet since they were eliminated from SECs in order to give them another meet to boost their NQS.

It was denied.

Arkansas fans are going wild stating NCAA is "out to get them".

Schedules were due in December.

Kind of happy NCAA didn't allow this as part of the conference championship rules for SEC was the 9th team would be out.
The coaches themselves voted on this.

First team to have the opportunity to pass CMU already did- Illinois State.
Just minutes away from seeing what Washington and Rutgers do.

And there’s a big consequence that Rutgers has clinched. Towson is now in 36th.

That means all the rest of the bubble teams below WVU and Towson have now been eliminated except Ball State and UC Davis.

Ball State can’t pass WVU, so WVU just needs to stay ahead of one of Towson or UC Davis to lock- their lock score is really doable in the mid 195’s.

It is highly unlikely for Ball State to hit the 196.83 they need at an away meet tomorrow to even have a shot at passing Towson (meaning Towson doesn’t get a countable score). Ball State’s second highest score all season is only a 195.875, more than a point below their home Senior Night spiked score.

So, I still think it all comes down to the period tomorrow as EAGLs and MPSFs overlap. UC Davis falters early? Then they’re out because they wouldn’t be challenging either WVU nor Towson no matter what those two schools do.

I'm glad the NCAA were consistent since they denied Georgia adding an extra meet mid-season too (a try meet with Clemson).

Just turned on Big Ten session 1. Holy shit, what is Nebraska wearing?!

Meanwhile, Washington looks like the stole their leo form Australia circa 1999, and AI mean that in the best way possible.
What kind of neckline was that for Nebraska?? Awful. Also the Minnesota leos for tonight look awful to me, but I feel like they never hit. Maybe maroon and gold are not good colors together. Hopefully MSU has a new pretty one to wear. I like most of theirs.

Iowa has rocketed up to 21st in the “instantaneous” rankings, and Illinois up to 28th. Iowa should be safe from the play-in round.

The day is early so we’ll continue to see movement.

Ball State only 48.250 on beam in the first rotation. Very safe to say they are out.

Iowa State leading session 1 of Big 12’s starting on beam is a refreshing result. Fred getting consistent on beam has been key for them.

why did Georgia get a .2 team deduction, anyone know?
