French team announced. Melanie DJDS, Lorette Charpy, Marine Boyer, Morgane Osyssek-Reimer, Coline Devillard, Djenna Laroui. No Heduit/Friess.

Friess is injured so not surprised there.

Heduit has not been seriously training due to the issue between the French federation and her coaches IIRC.

Did Melanie go back to France for a selection event or did they take her results at the waterbottle classic as a qualifier?

I think she was competing at the Classic for team selection purposes, and of course she looked really great there so there wasn’t really any doubt about her being named. Hoping she can have some success after some off years!

Is there any source for that Italian team beyond the nominative registration (which is a generally reliable source for World Cups but completely useless for major championships).

This year’s are pretty bad! Brody Malone is on it but not Rebeca or Simone lol

I know almost nothing about Tonelli, she is a new senior IIRC. Is she the likely alternate?

The line ups seem like Alice (AA), Esposito (AA), Iorio (AA) Andreoli (VT/FX) Villa (UB/BB). Andreoli can also have a solid beam, but who would they take out? Esposito? Iorio and Villa are doing beam for sure, as will Alice since she is their best AAer.

Maggio and Asia are clearly not recovered from injury.

Do we think Italy can challenge for a team medal?

That’s interesting AF.
DiCello and Carey are interesting. I just assumed USAG would have listed the Pan Am Championships team. They named 4 out of the 6 and swapped Fatta and Johnson with DiCello and Carey in place.
The team listed actually makes sense for the Pan Am Games.

Austria: Leni Bohle, Bianca Frysak, Selina Kickinger, Carina Kröll, Charlize Mörz.

Tokyo Olympian Elisa Hämmerle is a reserve so will not get the chance to qualify again.

Eli Seitz tore her achilles
Obviously she won’t be competing at worlds. I hope that she can come back in time for Paris.
