Mueller just seemed to rush everything. But i liked what i saw.

After watching the ncaa women who are in top form, this was pretty rough and we were spared the roughest. Some of the vaults, man, can we sub in the collegiates? If you are only doing a fty or 1.5y, it needs to be better than some of what we saw here.

I didn’t understand some of the scores today. And it didn’t seem to always go one way, either.

Even missing Jade, Jordan, Leanne, Konnor, and Shilese we had 28 senior gymnasts compete AA in a national meet today, which is an improvement on years past and especially impressive for February.

Zeiss, Miller, Sullivan, and Matthews will get European assignments.

Zeiss was already qualified because she was worlds alternate, but those 4 plus Mueller, Roberson(!), Eichmann, Booth, and Lincoln qualified nationals.

yeah, we might have to dissect some of these later.

It felt like there was some potential there but nobody made the statement that “I’m the next big thing, see you in Paris.” Which is fine, that doesn’t usually happen, but I didn’t see anyone that really felt like they could displace Jordan, Suni, or Jade. Zeiss feels like she could be the Grace of the team – solid, decent score, nothing spectacular.

Torry had the top scoring vault and the lowest scoring beam. There were 4 sub-10 beams. And only 12 got over 12. Of the 8 lowest scoring UBs, 6 of the gymnasts were from GAGE. What are they doing at that gym?

Overall the quality what shockingly low. 28 gymnasts, only 9 of them got their nationals qualifying score. Another 5 met the 50.00 minimum that one needs to achieve to qualify to Winter Cup or a Classic.

That means fully HALF of the all arounders didn’t achieve what is essentially the elite qualification score–and some of them we quite far off. Something feels wrong here.

And one of them was Gabby Disidore, who only did bars and scored in the 9s.

The scoring was, on the whole, harsher than worlds scoring.

If they’re gonna be harsher, that’s fine, but they need to lower the qualification scores accordingly. And they need to be harsh across the board.

Enduring mysteries of the world. Although IIRC, compulsory bars is basically KCH, a couple of stalders, jump to high bar, couple of giants and a flayway.

I mean, Mykayla Skinner and Aly Raisman both managed it, so…

I hope Ella Murphy is alright. She was in podium training but didn’t compete

LSU commits are having a great weekend. Chio winning Nastia yesterday and now Miller, Zeiss, and Lincoln all finishing in the top 9 and qualifying to Nationals.
