After BB, i was like, nah, thats not right but after fx, i was well, that made up for the bb overscore. Balanced the universe.

I do wish jade could lean into her tumbling talent and make her beam better. She isn’t going to be a better dancer until she loses her self-consciousness and if that hasn’t happened with a year of college under her belt, I’m not sure it ever will. So, check as many artistry boxes as possible while building the D score as much as possible so she doesn’t have to rely so heavily on vt and fx to make up the difference.

What’s gone wrong for France this week? 8th in the team final, 19th and 21st in the AA, Melanie DJDS withdrew - injured? They still could get a medal with Devillard and Boyer in event finals but so far they really haven’t lived up to their potential.

None of the French team have looked great here

MDJDS - I don’t know what is wrong but on the other hand she always breaks my heart in finals

I have to wonder if the French federation’s shenanigans have played a role. Essentially disrupting a training regimen that has worked for years for some athletes, can’t be good for morale.

Because I now you all love this stuff, AA by execution scores only.

Biggest moves up: Volleman (11 places!) and Brassart (8). Biggest drops: Miyata and Henduit (4 each)

So now the twitter chat is that Jess supposedly grabbed the beam during her wolf turn?

ok imma say, after watching the routine again, I get why she got a 8.0. Not a lot on pauses here. Quite a bit of form and certainly a mid mistake on the wolf and big on the dismount, but it could be.

So there you have it. I was wrong. Enjoy this as I won’t be saying it much

Yeah, I mean I think people are just not completely up-to-speed on the latest (stricter) judging shift. It used to be you could eyeball a super stable routine like Jade Carey’s or Jordan Chiles’ and be like ok yes wow no errors very good, 10.0 (hyperbole). . . but that was a time when artistry deductions on beam were not a thing, and judges apparently closed their eyes during back handsprings, and leaps were just window dressing. So in that context, a routine like Gadirova’s with two blatant errors (the wonky switch half and dismount landing) that the casual viewer can perceive seems worse than a routine like Jade’s, which ultimately scored 6 tenths lower. But it’s actually not. I’m OK with it.
