She was 11th at the national championships, which is 7th after excluding those who are now injured or otherwise not present at these trials. This has obviously been a bad competition for her, but the invitation was logical if you assume there must be more people at trials than will actually be selected.

I can’t see anyone at USAG stretching to optimize EF spots this year. Its a weak field, the priority is going to be taking back team gold after the loss in Tokyo. They’ll have 2 gymnasts in each EF regardless.
