It’s Nina Derwael on bars. New routine.
6,7/15,150. Nabieva was caught a little close, but tge rest of the routine looks clean. Bars final in Tokyo will be so exciting!

I hope everyone hits. If so, it’s going to be close and exciting! Who all is likely to get into finals? Nina and Suni are obvious choices. Riley if she makes it there? who else? I haven’t been following bars closely recently to know who is likely.

I had 8.5E with a 3 (late) + 1 (leg Sep) + 1 (bent knee tap) on the last pirouette.

yeah it’s a shame about that last pirouette, because this routine is so compact she’s saving a lot of deduction space it’d seem. I also love the “yes betch look at that” arm salute at the end.

I’m torn, because the Nabieva-kchs-Nabieva 1/2 feels kinda repetitive, but her flexed feet are less apparent in that than in the Ricna 1/2. I probably wouldn’t mind it as much if she initiated the turn before catching.

yeah these “1/2 pirouettes” are not doing it for me, honestly.

I always get so impressed with a Nabieva that I forget to check if the gymnast is piking or using other tricks to get over the bar. Does she really keep her feet together when during the Nabieva and Nabieva 1/2?

I do love how much flight and swing we see in her routine and Suni’s.

There should be a precision deduction for turning on the bar.

Fan Yilin is the bars WC qualifier with a 6.5 so hopefully she’ll make finals. Probably two Russians though it’s anyone’s guess which two right now. Seitz and Adlerteg could make it on their best days.

I had 8.8 for Nina whoops. I only took .1 for the close Nabieva catch.

Me too. The only 3 I had was the late turn.

I can’t stand Nina’s feet… then again I can’t stand Simone’s feet either.

Some of the greatest gymnasts have an inability to keep their ankles together and their toes pointed!

I’m pretty sure they’d credit it as long as she catches in mixed grip.

I think the new Tkatchev rules are a good move.

I know this routine is really difficult and she’s brilliant for the construction, but I’m not a fan of the back-to-back Nabz at all.
