The system was unnecessarily byzantine, even pre-covid, but I think it’s telling that this particular problem seems specific to US WAG. It’s a consequence of two things really, the federation being in such disarray at the time the series began and nobody else except US WAG feeling sufficiently guaranteed to qualify two individuals through the AA and continental routes that they’d actually want to prevent EF qualification. That’s a very specific and unusual set of circumstances and neither of those issues would’ve necessarily gone away with a better designed individual selection process.

Jade will qualify on vault and is therefore not eligible to win the floor event series that she is currently leading. It’s unclear whether her floor points will be removed and reallocated. Currently Mori and Ferrari are tied on 80 points. If they reallocate the points then Mori gets two second places upgraded to first and has 90 points. Ferrari gets one second place upgraded to first (and two thirds upgraded to second but that doesn’t affect the top three results) and her best three results then give her 85 points. This changes what each gymnast needs to do in Doha to win the floor series.

If it’s the second point you are asking about then it was a reference to no information about Doha dates being released until the day after Petrounias tweeted the question while tagging FIG and other organisations.

Deranged that FIG hasn’t said anything about the points, but if I’m betting, ITA would be fine with Mori +1 and Ferrari on the main team. May even be the plan right now, considering Asia D’Amato can’t seem to catch a break with injuries.
