I feel for Jordan. At the same time I feel more for the individuals who had their money stolen. That’s retirement and life savings amounts of money! $945,000 from one individual could ruin their life. Honestly I’m more ok if they postponed the prison time but made it longer. And I’d love to know if she has started paying them back. Maybe from what she’s making on her tv tome and book sales? Or she could sell some of those shoes she bought they talked about? Geez

Its just that this is not about Jordan. Its about her mother. Jordan is not being accused of any crime and it is irrelevant if she somehow benefitted from it unwittingly. Her mother needs to do her time and pay restitution. Jordan needs to be kept out of the whole thing.

I just hope Jordan doesn’t turn pro to pay back her mother’s victims.
I hope she just goes to UCLA and doesn’t get involved in any way with this mess besides mentally supporting her mother, I hope but I wonder

I feel for Jordan. That is why I have been praying for her family. However, I also feel for the victims of Jordan’s mother and her fraud. The sum that Jordan’s mother has stolen in the fraud is a scandal ! Jordan’s mother has been doing the same thing for which Bernie Madoff got 150 years. On a much smaller scale, but the same thing. A mini version of what Madoff did, but the same thing. Shame on her ! She earned her prison sentence !

That alone is terrible enough. However, to make it worse, this crime was committed by a religious minister, a pastor. All the worse. Shame on her !

Jordan is not at fault for her mother’s crime. I feel for Jordan.

I am still praying for Jordan and her family.

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — The mother of local Olympic gymnast Jordan Chiles reported to federal prison in Fort Worth, Texas on Thursday.

Jordan Chiles is from Vancouver. Her mom, Gina Chiles, was supposed to report to federal prison at the end of July for stealing more than $1 million, but a judge agreed to postpone it until the end of August so she could watch her daughter compete in Tokyo.

Court records show Gina Chiles plead guilty after embezzling $1.2 million dollars from her clients and business partners in Portland

Gina Chiles is ordered to repay the money she stole.

Her biggest victim, Karla Pearlstein, lost $945,000. She tells KOIN 6 she is not pleased that Chiles was allowed to delay her sentence.

“I think it’s absolutely ridiculous. The courts have given her break after break. This is not the first time that they have allowed her to travel or delayed for sentencing because Jordan’s Olympic trials or whatever, but it’s a real disservice to those of us who she victimized. And, I’m not happy about it to be frank with you,” Pearlstein told KOIN 6 News in July.

I feel Gina Chiles gave up her “right” to watch Jordan at the Olympics the moment she was charged.

I’d be pissed too.
