WHAT THE FUCK??????????????????????????

She totally salutes. It's brief, but it's there. The person who took that deduction needs to be FIRED.

Add them to the oob-happy line judges whose miss calls affected the bronze medal and kept a gymnast out of AA finals. I'd also be interested in comparing the vault NDs to reality.

At least in Simone's case, the ND doesn't change the outcome.

Jake Jarman has said he intends to compete for the next 4 years, and stay with GB. I'm sure everyone is shocked by that news.

He was asked if he might ever represent the Philippines, and said he wouldn't rule it out at the end of his career. Not sure how much of that was him being tactful.

She is finished with the AA, she hasn’t said how many events she’ll continue with but I imagine she will drop floor and potentially beam
With vault and UB she would still be very valuable to the team. Heck, if she wanted to become a ub specialist, I would be interested in seeing how far she could go with it.

She was easily the front runner for gold on bars at 2021 Worlds and only a mistake kept her from the top spot. She still won silver. If she weren't such a strong AAer, she'd definitely already be considered a bars specialist!

I get her wanting to drop beam but floor? That girl shines on the dance floor! Let's see...

Floor is the piece that she trains and competes the least and she has spoken before about how much trouble it gives her.

She may go back on what she said and continue with AA, although it seemed her definite from her. But if she is finished with AA, there is zero chance of her continuing on floor

Yes. Floor is most definitely out given her injuries. Both in 2022 and 2023 she didn't do floor up until Worlds IIRC (maybe a domestic meet?).

I would think she would keep vault and bars for sure. Brazil has a need for bar workers, so she would be on every team leading up to LA IMO. Also the only medal she does not have from the Olympics is on bars! She has one in every event otherwise.

She has so much amplitude on bars, and that can't be taught. It's like Mustafina's swing. Innate!

She has said in the past week that she wouldn’t rule out at some point doing the TTY, so that definitely points to her continuing with vault.

No individual beam medal, but she does have a Worlds medal! She has a Worlds medal on every event, and Olympic golds on VT and FX. Amazing. We're lucky to have her and Biles competing at the same time.

Oh right. I thought she had medaled on beam in Tokyo, but clearly I mistook that for Worlds!

The medal on every event is an elite club for sure! Biles and Andrade had already accomplished it before Paris. The next ones back would be Mustafina and Khorkina, I believe, and then down to Milosovici and Podkopayeva. (I'm probably missing someone else.)

Shushunova and Silivas before that.
Silivas won a medal in every single event in Seoul.
Shushunova won a medal in every single event in Rotterdam Worlds in 1987.
Both had world medals on events before this. Shushunova had a medal on every single event but bars in Montreal in 1985. There were no Soviets in bars finals in 1985 because Baraksanova and Mostepanova were pulled out of the AA for Shushusnova and Omelianchik. Once the two were pulled out citing injury they forfeited their event finals spot. Given the stranglehold East Germany had on uneven bars it was the smart decision, especially since the latter two Soviets tied for AA gold.
