I thought I'd make a thread where we can compile all the retirement announcements, as well as the athletes who have indicated they want to continue post-Paris. Here's what I've got so far, and please correct any mistakes and add anything that's missing.

MAG
Max Whitlock: retiring
Stephen Nedoroscik: continuing

WAG
Andrade: likely finished with AA, but no indications of an imminent retirement
Biles: "Never say never. The next Olympics is at home, so you just never know." Has retired the Biles II vault.
Black: Says she doesn't feel finished with gymnastics, but needs some time to rest after the intensity of preparing for Paris.
Chiles: will announce something in the coming days
DJDS: I've heard she plans on retiring after Paris but haven't seen any confirmation
Douglas: intends to continue
Downie: retiring
Jones: intends to continue
Ou: intends to continue towards 2028
Roberson: retired from elite for now, heading to college, left door open to return to elite at some point
Saraiva: continuing, apparently (seen on Reddit with no source)

Thanks all. I've adjusted my post based on your comments so that we can have one big list.

I think Curran Phillips is going to medical school at Uof M that he had deferred for the olympics.

So if Simone retires the double pike, but does indeed go for 28, I wonder what that means for vaulting? I can't imagine she would give up that event completely, but doing easier vaults would lessen her medals chances.

It also likely depends on where the rest of the world is with their vaulting. If it is all dtys and lopezes, no need to kill yourself to win by 3 points.

Apparently Jade Carey retired in an interview. @Doug1233 told me. But I haven't found the video interview yet. Apparently after the medal ceremony she said "this is a good way to go out".
So likely meaning done with elite and going back to finish her last year of NCAA?

Yeah I can't imagine what else she has to prove. She's done everything she set out to do (World and Olympic individual champion) and then some (World and Olympic AA finalist, team gold).

If Jordan Chiles continues, I'd hope to see her become a more competitive vault specialist by showing the Amanar and Cheng that she says she can do. Maybe it would also be fun to see her in a major all-around final after she fell on beam in 2022 qualifications and then just came up short here in Paris.

But part of me is also just ready for these two to be done. We've been seeing them in major senior competition since 2017!
