Where are we actually at with the whole bronze medal debacle?
I imagine a bunch of judges in wigs and gowns sitting around in an alpine chalet munching toblerones and shaking their heads over the code of points while cuckoo clocks warble in the distance.

In reality I think we are just waiting for them to reply to Chiles's two submissions and Voinea's one, and apparently that's normal for a few months yet.

I have liked Simone in the past, but I’m getting really tired of that
Tired of a year old post?

Also, can we admit floor music is highly personal? Some is like nails on a chalkboard but the gymnast must like it enough to hear it every day. Even your favorite fx ever, you'll find someone who hated the music, thought it was background noise, or didn't fit the dance or whatever. And, Simone's music was hardly the "worst."

It would have been better to state something along the lines of ' Simone's music is potentially going to lead to artistry deductions'
Yes, exactly this. Also the use of "Simone" like she knows her. I would much more likely accept from a stranger "L-- has the worst floor music" than "Richard has the worst floor music" lol

I'd say it's kind of the opposite in this context, more a mark of respect - if you can refer to someone by their first name alone it means they're at the very top of their game, the undisuputed great. If you're talking about gymnastics then "Simone" is Simone Biles and always will be. Poor old Simone Rose has to be Simone Rose, or Rose or whatever.

Like how in music "Taylor" means Swift, rather than under-appreciated late Candaian folk singer Taylor Mitchell.

Agreed. I would worry that a comment like this, even on a personal Twitter account, could possibly raise questions of bias in judging. She seems to be a great resource, and an explanation of potential problems with the music could have been helpful.

Think Emily was watching USA Olympic Trials and made a few comments and the floor music comment was just one of them?
I don’t think it unusual to refer to the gymnasts by their first names when discussing and making comments.
Oh, if it was in one of multiple tweets referring to the same competition, then I retract my objection to the use of the first name since there's context. Thank you!

She's not judging anything Simone would be competing in so I dont think any potential bias comes into it. Just like any other viewer, she should be able to express a thought about the gymnastics she is watching without attacks being sent her way.
