This is so stupid and needs to be shared. For some background, Linoy Ashram (ISR) won the Olympic all-around in rhythmic gymnastics, breaking Russia’s streak. Dina Averina (RUS) came in second and Arina Averina (RUS) came in fourth. Here’s the full replay.

Ashram’s ribbon score was suspiciously high especially since she messed up an apparatus difficulty (around -.6). Here’s a jump to the routine.

Alina Kabaeva, a total stranger to generous scoring, did her own analysis confirming the scandal.

Viner-Usmanova corrected the issue by ensuring Dina and Arina got the right prizes. Dina received the car model for gold medalists and Arina received the car for medalists. Artur Dalaloyan among other athletes was not too pleased with this.

I have a feeling we’ll hear more in the future about the greatest injustice in world history.

Russia withdrew Natalia Kuzmina’s reelection candidacy for TC president in protest. At the last minute they tried to reenter her in the election. The FIG did not allow that for unclear reasons. So Noha Abou Shabana of Egypt was elected TC president unopposed.
