If you only held events with a top class WAG competition there would be literally nothing other than the Olympics, Worlds and some continental championships. Is that a sustainable path for the sport? It might be where we are headed anyway. MAG clearly has no problem getting high quality gymnasts for these events, so maybe the criteria for hosting should be interest in the men’s side of things.

Holding it in the Americas would maybe attract a Brazil B team. The US and Canada are both already represented in Cairo (and really, outside of Ellie Black (injured) and Shallon Olsen (NCAA) do Canada have anyone really notable on any particular event?) The last apparatus event in the Americas (Sao Paulo Challenge Cup 2016) had three apparatus without even the full 8 entries for a final. Events in China and Australia were similarly bad, even when Australia was an Olympic qualifying event.

Yes, vault and bars qualifications today, beam and floor tomorrow. Then vault and bars EFs Saturday, beam and floor Sunday.

She’s really impressive. The judges love her on too. I just rewatched her TF floor routine from Worlds and she had basically .9 in landing deductions on her tumbling and still scored 13.100. And that 13.5+ on beam was clutch for the team too. She and Ellie Black carried that bronze medal.

She and Ellie Black carried that bronze medal.
They led the team, but it was a total team effort. Spence was consistent on her three events and her beam helped secure the bronze with Canada finishing 2nd on the event, Pedrick’s DTY was a big score on vault, and Denommee almost broke 13 on floor.

Looks like possibly a fall for Roberson on beam. She’s currently second behind Norway’s Maria Tronrud.

7.5E would be awfully high for a fall; looks like she either took out or didn’t get credited with a lot of her difficulty; only a 5.3 here.

Where are you seeing the score breakdowns? I’d love to see those! I’m just seeing the total score on the live page and taking a guess based on prior D scores.

Roberson’s scores in this world cup are pretty consistent with DTB scores except bars. Italian slays in qualification.

On men’s side, Illia has been shining in world cups. Donnell had two tough days, and unfortunately inconsistency issue is a disadvantage in MAG team selection.

I’ve only been able to find video on twitter, but its something.

Big changes to Roberson’s beam. Alas, that “Onodi” is still in the routine.

How many deductions are in her Onodi? Perhaps she can do a front aerial instead if there are lots of deductions there.
