Interesting that all of the UB EF routines beat Becky’s prelims 14.0…

Plus, practically surely it wouldn’t be possible? Amelie is in the US and the other three are varying degrees of recovery from being injured.

Wasn’t there already a British in 2021?

(Need to include spaces in my text now because of these fucking super annoying ads that have started recently covering up the text box so I can’t see what I’m typing!)

Probably, but I’ve given up trying to understand the scheduling of sporting events in 2021. You never know what’s been rolled over from when.

The earlier British was mens. This is WAG. You can follow the scores on the BG score app. This morning is espoirs (age 12-13) and this afternoon is Seniors (not many in that) and tomorrow is Juniors.

Looks like they were judging in line w a Tokyo standard. A 12.65 for that seems about right. Shame about the leap before the aerial. Not sure what they’re trying to do with that but for one tenth it’s only ever going to be a bad idea.

Yeah, I didn’t get that leap. Like, she did way harder jumps but that was just phoned in.

Would that sideways jump count under the new rules? Like you have to hit the position before initiating the turn/rotation, right? (did they get rid of that since it seems like it is impossible?)

Mmm, that seemed like a bizarre choice. Jarring, in the context of the rest of a beautiful exercise.

Thanks for the full scores @Bananna!

I’m finding it slightly concerning that our best juniors aren’t even hitting a 50.0. And only one senior (Odine) got a 50+.

Is WAG GB worried about this?

Beam seems to be on a good track. Bars and floor, less so.

The seniors were not much better. Those top two AA junior scores would have come second and third in the senior comp. One injury in the top senior girls would be a disaster.

Only 4 juniors got over 50 at the Junior Pan Am games (3 US and 1 CAN). So they aren’t too far from other Juniors in the world. Now the seniors… BG is going to be working off the backs of the Gadirovas for the next few years, hoping they stay healthy.
