I know it has been discussed but what happened to Jen G
I don’t believe we know. There’ve been rumours about mental blocks as well as injury, but no idea of the veracity. She’s essentially not competed this year, just one or two beam routines in about March.

After Worlds was over and I came home to watch I found Jake Jarman’s facial expressions to be very expressive. After he landed a near perfect vault and in this interview he showed so much with his face.

Lol, Air Pirate. Great nickname.

Jess’ injury hurts Becky’s chances, unless Becky starts showing VT and FX.
If Jess can make it back for bars and beam, you’ll want to take her, but if neither can do floor and vault.
Do we know if Jess had surgery? She’s got some rehab looking videos up in her stories.

I don’t believe she has, or least had not when she filmed those videos. It looked to me like they were focused on building strength, to stabilize her knee, in her quads and other upper leg muscles. They are tagged as “prehab” so I’m guessing surgery is soon?

That’s what I’m worried about. Isn’t she super tight on time?

That was over 10 years ago. It’s unusual not to wait now although Jess seems to be waiting longer than most
I know and I agree you generally can
wait. However, she had a super tight timeline, and it looks like she’s waited about a month. I’m hoping it works out for her and we see her in Paris.

Perhaps Jess and her team have decided that next quad is the new priority. I’m sure the thought of missing Paris is devastating, but she is already an Olympic medalist and rushing a comeback to do her two weaker pieces might not be a gamble they wanna take when she could be super successful next quad.

Yes, I’m actually hoping we don’t see her.
With potentially Simone and Rebeca retiring and Shilese to NCAA after Paris, Jess could really clean up the medals next quad if she can get back to her pre-injury VT/FX capability.

I’m not even the biggest fan of her gymnastics, but I hope she has a successful LA quad so I can savor the saltiness of the people who think the judges gifted her her world medals.

I really don’t know where I am with this. My head vs heart verdict keeps changing.
If she could do it safely, all to the good. It just seems a helluva risk to be a bars/beam specialist with a low chance of medalling.

Wasn’t Becky training 1 1/2 through to ADF in 2019 or am I imagining it?
