I presume it'll be a coronation for Ruby and a good chance to see the potential Welsh CWG team in action. On the English side, Jen and Max are probs the most interesting participants.

Exactly! I think the one spouting nonsense about tattoos and fluff might be Danusia. She is a truely awful commentator at the British in house. Butchers peoples names constantly and spouts incorrect rule information.

I didn't go to the English Champs this year so this is a mix of bits I caught on the stream and reports from friends who did go.

• Abi Martin has a new floor routine (13.6) in a different style to her usual (dramatic rather than upbeat). She got lost on her DTY in warm up (thinkBiles Tokyo Y1.5) and ended up competing her usual second vault first instead. DTY was good in comp.
• Alia Leat fell on beam and had a big shocked O face. She also has a new floor routine but fell there as well.
• Jennifer Gadirova did not compete.
• Becky Downie did UB/BB. UB was going well until the penultimate skill and she had to tuck after her stalder (13.35). Second on bars and did not stay for the medal presentations. Leg up wobble on LO and fall on side somie for beam.
• Max Whitlock stepped down from a pommel handstand but otherwise was good, tied for first on PH.
• Some nice beam artistry from gymnasts deep in the rankings. Some of the bar routines were painful to watch though.
