Belgium without coaches

On Monday, Yves Kieffer and Marjorie Heuls were fired. The position for headcoach of the WAG team in Belgium is open.

Weren’t they pretty hit by injury or was that just Germany?

Both were decimated by injury

Germany went from good chance to make it to just missing out. A couple of Injuries can explain that. Belgium went from easy team finalists to not even close to qualifying a team…if a couple of injuries can do that it speaks to the depth of a federation. Don’t know enough about gymnastics in Belgium to speak to how responsible these coaches are for the situation but seems like a reasonable reset.

Belgium lost Daerwael and Vaelen who were 8 routines in TQ and TF gone, they didn’t have the depth to replace them.

Apparantly they were told in June that after Paris the contract would be finished. Following the bad result (no final and nobody going to Paris) the federation stopped the contract earlier.

Ulla Koch will be the new interim headcoach for Belgium.
She used to train the germans, till she retired 2 years ago.
