Essentially, it sounds like the appeals court is handing it back to CAS with the directive to review the rejected Netflix documentary evidence due to administrative errors that didn't give the US enough time to gather evidence in a timely manner

Holy shit, I thought the appeal would never be accepted. Just further makes the FIG and the CAS look like absolute fools.

The only acceptable outcome is to award both gymnasts the bronze.

Voinea should get one too, but it appears the appeal was not put in place to question the OOB, neutral deduction so that is Mama Voinea's fault.

I didn't think you could appeal a neutral deduction but I could be wrong.

You can appeal very specifically OOB

You can appeal D score and you can appeal ND. You cannot appeal E score.

That is interesting. You can't in our domestic system in the UK and I wasn't sure if it was a fig or BG rule. Must be a BG rule only.

I don't think it would work to have competitors appeal a neutral deduction for eg OOB but I think all neutral deductions should be automatically reviewed by a panel at world and olympic level. It is so hugely unjust for someone to lose a medal because someones OOB is not picked up.

Many levels I've judged at it's basically impossible to appeal an OOB because how do you check that? But with FIG ostensibly having line judges and video footage that gets easier.

Yes - Suni Lee was very lucky that her OOB on AA VT in 2024 was not picked up by the judges as it would have made the fight for bronze with Alice d'Amato a lot closer and tenser - as it was there was only something like 0.13 between them

And I feel that in this day and techno age there is no excuse for it either. It's like saying yeah we could make this watertight but we choose not to and we are perfectly ok with getting it wrong for no reason. It would be such an easy fix.
