Olympic gymnast Aly Raisman has been on tons of big stages throughout her career. With multiple Olympic appearances—and medals—and multiple World Championships under her belt, the 29-year-old is used to the pressure and spotlight that accompanies important events. She has learned how to approach them all with her characteristic strength and power.

The same is true of her two SI Swimsuit photoshoots alongside photographer James Macari. Following her debut in Houston in 2017, the athlete returned to the SI Swim set the following year for her sophomore photoshoot in Aruba. That year, she also participated in a studio project called “In Her Own Words” in a Brooklyn studio.

She was happy about the opportunity to travel to Aruba with the brand. “Being able to shoot for SI Swim is such a big honor,” she remarked while on set. “It’s something I’ve always wanted to do.”

While all of the snapshots of the strong gymnast were powerful, the one that really stood out in her mind was the first photo of the day: a Wonder Woman-inspired pose on the natural rocks edging the beach in Aruba. It was a task to climb up on the rock, but the final image made all of the effort worth it. “The shot was really, really powerful,” she said. “I love how they continue to make us look fierce and strong.”

The resulting photo was certainly both of those things, but so were all of the images that Raisman posed for that day. Just as in Houston the year before, she made a statement in the Caribbean country. Below are a handful of our favorites displaying her power and strength.

The Wonder Woman suit is… interesting. I know she doesn’t get to choose the swimsuits but the stylists for these things find the strangest swimsuits possible, I swear!
