That is most interesting. I particularly appreciate your use of bold text, it certainly brings clarity to a very complex issue. As anyone here will tell you, I am a huge fan of political discourse on a gymnastics message board.

However, appreciative as I am for this opportunity to educate myself, I’m not sure that I personally have any subconscious bias or micro aggressions at all. I don’t care about anyone’s race, nationality, gender, sexuality, religion or politics. I will bait the f*ck out of everyone
@MaryClare: it's not directed at you at all. I highlighted it because it's important to drive the point home. I'm very sure that you're a gymnast enthusiast. LOL.....She, the other lady, had micro aggressions and downright implications regarding race and I called her out. Russia may not have that issue that is visible as much but there is little doubt that it exists in American Gymnastics greatly. I liked Donnell because he struggled with consistency, doubt, lack of sponsorships, representation issues, and he's 31 and still competing and winning due to his perseverance.

I will reply in full later today, some of us have careers and functional nuclear families we tend to during daytime hours. In the meantime I would suggest you reread my posts in order for us to have productive discourse. 😉
Hmm. I think you should probably mention that other family types are just as valid, honoured and cherished Just so that there’s no further misunderstanding here.

I mean look at Sabrina Voinea. Her step father is out there, trolling her competitors on social media. Now that’s a guy who stepped up. Just because he isn’t her biological father doesn’t mean he isn’t just as much a father as Chris Skinner.

Girl please. I am a decorated war hero, and possess a Doctorate Degree in Business Administration (graduated Summa Cum Laude), and I assist veterans in getting them their benefits. "Careers and functional nuclear families?" You read as if you're a part of some type of war zone or something. Whatever it is, it comes across as elitist because you know nothing about me at all....Now, about that post that YOU stated that I stated earlier...? I didn't think so. Have sever seats...

Ah, common sense. I don't think that she's listening to valid points at this moment.

Ah, yes, MaryClare is our bastion of common sense and civility at all times, especially as it comes to decorum with baiting others into rash conversation and judicious use of bombastic type formatting.
Maybe you should direct this to the person who STARTED this to begin with. How about that? I don't do microagressions and gaslighting. I mean how dare I say that I admire Donnell? What was I thinking...? And yes, I will blast every time I feel the need to when someone is trying to down cast me, now back to the original forum post..Thanks in advance

First of all: tone. Let's act like adults here. We're all here to discuss our love for gymnastics. ?¿Comprendé? Now, let's address the VERY real elephant in the room (since YOU brought it up): (1) I CHALLENGE you to show me the post to where I stated that Donnell is ignored because he's African American-I'll wait....(2) You made a great point about passage of time and newer gymnasts....(3) You made another great point about teams and such. NOW: college teams and the general coaches at gymnastics have LONG had a fraught history with racial inequalities and we all know this: Fred Richards, himself DEFINITELY hinted at this, Biles, Jordan Chiles, Gabby Douglas being called the N-word, and Joshua McGee stating PUBLICLY that Kameron Nelson ALSO called him the N-word in addition to other teammates doing the same. It have been WELL documented that even judges have reputed to score African American and other minorities MORE harshly than other gymnasts. Don't get me started at how the Irish Gymastics refused to medal one of THEIR black teammates on NATIONAL TV like they did the other children who were not black. The list and assertions go on and on to include the lack of support from a more internalized structure within collegiate and professional gymnastics and this is NOT including the purported MAGA-supporting Brody Malone. NOW....Let's move on to the rest of the post: Jacob Dalton DID retire in 2017, I think but he still had a great gymnastics career. Not many people know about his team, vault, and other medals. And actually, for your information, a LOT of people, non-African American and African American, are WELL aware of Donnell's accomplishments and such but even IF people had to look him up, isn't that what gymnastics is all about? (1) Exposure and (2) Admiration. You see, gymnastics is for EVERYONE and not the select few, don't you think? Instead of trying to bait me into purported gymnastics racism, you SHOULD be putting me onto American Men's Champions-regardless of color, but then you know that, right...?
Agreed... so please use paragraphs.

I am counting at least 14 sentences in that above block of text, depending on how one might enumerate a list within a run-on. Perhaps you were aiming for connective value? Do ellipses constitute a rhythm break?

You're also brand new here and attacking a long time member of Thai community. No one gives two fucks about your credentials. Knock off the attitude or you can leave.
