Vault and beam feel maybe 0.1 or 0.2 high, but reasonable

Today there was an internal press release within the RGF to say that any medals won at these world championships will come with the same financial rewards and ceremonial honours as if they were won at the Olympics. Which would make gold worth roughly 400,000 usd

Olympic gold medalists typically get a cash reward and a brand new luxury car from central government. Local government often gives additional cash rewards and/or housing. Sometimes shares in that regions biggest companies.

I don’t know if any judging assignments have been confirmed, but Russia does have judges with AIN status

My recollection – and perhaps one of the European judges in the forum can correct me — is that some judges have already been supporting competitions from time to time, yes? Or was it just Liubov Andrianova, who is on the technical committee? Apologies in advance for any incorrect information.

Interesting to note that except for Kaylia's and Jayla's scores, everyone else's came from their Nationals competition. It will be exciting to see these ladies vie for the AA at Worlds

I saw a current video of Melnilova landing a Cheng in training despite her lower knee injury. My money is on her winning. Or Kalmykova.

So much speculation about Melnikova over the weekend. Seems she has a stress fracture but is continuing to train anyway. Here she is on her IG stories doing a Cheng with a worrying amount of knee strapping, which I'm sure couldn't possibly have any negative repercussions. Not sure if this is the one you were talking about @Beamer

The impression I have from Melnikova’s recent statements is that she wouldn’t be competing under ordinary circumstances, especially in a post Olympic year. But since it’s her first major international in 4 years, she is treating it like it’s the Olympics.

I would imagine that she’ll take a long break after worlds and we won’t see her until late spring.
