I don't know why FlipTV hasn't put up the video from session 2 PT yet. I want to go back and watch. Session 1 is up.

How big of an upgrade did Jones do on bars? She added the layout Jaeger and another pirouette to her high bar combination...

Per the rules, she wouldn't be able to do the Amanar and the double pike? She'd have to do the half turn entry for one?

I'm really surprised to see Lee doubling down on the jaeger full.
The problem is she's doing it with honest technique, making it harder on herself, instead of twisting off the bar. There's no penalty for twisting off the bar, people should be taking advantage of that until there's a rule change.

It's the same pirouette she did before, just in a new place. Basically the only change is she replaced the Shaposh 1/2 with Layout Jaeger, .1 increase.

In theory she could, if her aim was to test them both out in competition
I think he means for event final rules? Which yea I guess she still needs a Cheng/Biles for that.

IDK how exactly this would be codified, but Shilese ought to earn a decent E-score margin over most of her competitors based on the dynamics of her swing, amplitude, etc. I don't like this judging paradigm that basically says her and Simone are equal on bars execution. I really wanna see her do a half turn out of the double front though, that would be helpful on D and E fronts I think.

I wonder if Shilese will finally put in her double front-half dismount.

Why would she not do bars? She NEEDS bars to have any chance at Paris.
If it isn't an error by USAG, it suggests to me that she isn't confident she can hit bars tomorrow. Is she already qualified to Nationals on two events? (And is bars one of them?)

She's qualified on beam and vault. Interesting she's adding floor, since there were rumors she wasn't planning to do it this year. She starts there, so it's not like she can decide to scratch depending on how vault and beam go.

Not doing bars sounds like she's not sure she can hit bars and wants to make sure she can still petition on them to Nationals. The jaeger 1/1 was obviously going poorly today, but I'd have to imagine it's a stamina issue if she isn't sure she can do a watered down routine with just a straddled jaeger in its place and get a Nationals qualifying score.
