On November 6th the Arthur Gander Memorial will be held in Chiasso, Switzerland. Women compete on their best three apparatus. Men compete on their best four.

Someone whose parents had questionable taste...ok, I know it is a nickname. He's in the B or C tier of US MAG but he has some moments where you can see potential, if I am remembering the right guy.

He competes for Oklahoma. Had a rough go of injuries after his freshman year: shoulder surgery, then surgery to repair a severed nerve in his hand, then ruptured Achilles. Something of a minor miracle he could fight his way back from all that and make Olympic Trials. He finished 6th AA, still very young. May blossom into a legitimate tip tier guy.

Who is Fuzzy

He's a strong NCAAthlete whose career has been hampered by injuries. He's a nice kid. I hope this will be a good year for him.

Like, it's so dark his feet disappear into the black every time he goes into a handstand. So the audience can't see all of the gymnast performing the gymnastics, while the gymnasts can't see anything because the spotlights are blinding when you're under them.

FIG needs some rules about minimum lighting requirements at sanctioned events. Or the gymnasts need to do a sit in if they feel unsafe and want the damn lights turned on. (Though maybe they like it? I don't follow SM enough to know how the competitors feel).

Lighting and the ability to spot is so important. I know there were comments on lighting issues at multiple recent worlds and this summer's Olympics. I don't know why people keep treating these meets like pageants instead of a difficult and technical sport.
