It is absolutely absurd. She is, however, qualified to do AA at Winter Cup and then Classics. Her world trials AA was 51.45.

Look at Jen try the gogean twice in the warm up. completely wild landings. i’m surprised they continued to let her try the gogean in both TF and AA.

How have you not been fired from your lawyer work? I’m a musician struggling in the covid world and I don’t have this kind of time on my hands! I’m guessing your clients are: a) all in jail at this point and b) all incredibly knowledgeable about warm-up inconsistencies and downgrade rulez :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

There is an incentive, beyond qualifying to nationals, for athletes to compete at Winter Cup. It is doubling as the selection event for DTB Pokal. (https://usagym.org/PDFs/Women/Committee Minutes/IEC/iec_122121.pdf)

Selection criteria for DTB Pokol from 2022 Winter Cup
  1. The athlete must show a minimum of three (3) events in competition at Winter Cup.
  2. The three highest scoring All-Around gymnasts in the Junior and Senior age divisions at the conclusion of competition at the 2022 Winter Cup will automatically qualify to the five (5) member DTB Pokal Team in each age division.
  3. Placement on individual events and three-event scores would be considered for the remaining two team spots and mixed cup.
[additional criteria about readiness and “world class presentation” that I’ve not copied]

Interesting. I don’t remember a team event a DTB Cup that the US has ever attended.

Me neither, I’m glad they’re going though. The US athletes need to get out there.

Doesn’t look like it yet. Nastia Cup will be on Peacock, senior women on NBC, no word on any broadcast/streaming for anything else (or if there will be non-login streaming option for the senior women for those of us who can’t get NBC broadcast)

No.
But hopefully both McClain and Blakely will be there.
They were at the WOGA Classic and did fairly well on two events each.

I completely missed WOGA classic. But yeah, interesting to see the scores. Konnor does have a good solid DTY and it seems like a skill that’s well within her comfort zone, so I’d expect to keep seeing her post bankable scores. It was a good call for the US to let her do it at worlds.

It will be interesting to see the start list and who is doing AA or just individual events.

Hmmm No Amari Drayton or Ava Siegfeldt

Likely Chio and Jong that will battle for 1st in seniors but Fatta could be in there depending on her recovery. Frazier also proved she can be a solid AAer. Blakely and McClain could contend but they did two events only at WOGA so maybe going back slow.
