I honestly can’t remember a Worlds I was less excited about. I’m far more excited about the start of NCAA in January. And if this is the Worlds where the USA’s lack of focus on form, execution, and composition finally catches up with them, I won’t be mad about it at all.

Well, DiCello didn’t beat Becky’s score.

It looks like she hit a clean routine though. Her execution score was decent.

All said and done it sounds like Wong and DiCello should be happy with that start. Bars finals were never the goal for either–just a possible ‘It would be nice if’

She didn’t meet her goal, but I’d still call it victory for her. Just staying on has been serious issue. The real challenge is, will the people in her life be able frame it that way as a stepping stone?
