So I actually very much agree with you that this practice both is unnecessary and should be a penalty of 0.3 or 0.5 taken as a neutral deduction from the final score. They can spray some water.

Oh I don’t hate Gervasio! Quite the opposite! What I hate is the practice of spitting on one’s hands… As I said upthread, even my all time fave gobbed it on.
