Qualifiers to US Nationals

She’s pacing herself and adjusts her expectations for what her body can sustain. Chellsie probably won’t make it to any meets that would qualify her to be invited to trials at this point but I think she’s too smart to push so hard she gets another injury so Worlds is the sensible goal. OTOH maybe she submits a video and Tom gets her invited.

Updated juniors after US Classic.

I wonder if they’ll lower the junior qualifying score. Only 13 made it (unless more made it via camp)

I will update tomorrow, I only have my phone and it’s easier for me to do this when I can have windows open side by side.

The International Elite Committee voted June 2020 to allow gymnasts who had an international assignment and met the qualifying score for 2020 nationals to carry those scores over for 2021. That would be Gymnix and American Cup, so Hurd and McClain are qualified. I’ll need to check and see if anyone else qualified that way.

For whatever reason, this isn’t reflected in the elite qualification chart. But it is very much in force.

Looks like Chellsie and Riley will have successful petitions.

Riley’s obviously subject to today’s MRI…

I believe a few Juniors may have met the qualifying score at a camp and could be admitted to the championships though a petition. Hopefully, that is the case…

Updated to reflect US Classic. Petitions are not reflected.

Any idea when we will get a full nationals roster? Will anyone not be permitted to do AA?

Still no Sydney Morris or Lilly Lippeatt

Morris wasn’t qualified, to the best of my knowledge. Lippeatt did qualify, wonder if she is injured.

What did Sydney Morris score? Did she get better than a 25.5 over two events…?

I don’t think Morris competed at all this year.

In other news, Levi Jung-Ruivivar is also absent from the nationals roster. Shame. She won the March camp so I was very much looking forward to seeing her compete.

Morris has vaguely alluded to an injury this year. I hope that she comes back as she was one of my fave up and comers. I don’t think she has committed to a college yet either.

Good that they have managed to find a few more juniors! They were looking like an overly small group at one point.

Morris was qualified to compete at 2021 Classics. Scores from 2019 nationals cannot be used to qualify to 2021 nationals.

13 juniors, tiny field. Kaliya Lincoln was the only junior missing fron my list that is on the nationals roster. She must have qualified via a camp where they didn’t release results.

I’m on my phone, so trying to compare my list of seniors to the actual list is maddening difficult because there are so many. I do see obvious things like Memmel and McCusker had petitions accepted. JaFree Scott qualified on 3 events but isn’t on the list USAG released.

My list was pretty close. For seniors, Riley McCusker, Chellsie Memmel, and Lyden Saltness are on the nationals roster but missing from this list.

Juniors, the only one I missed was Kaliya Lincoln.
