Yes. I don’t think ASCAP applies to educational settings. But no idea how that applies internationally.Educational licence completely different than use in professional sport in front of a paying audience.

Yeah, I don’t understand how this works when so many international skaters use American music and they’re not having issues. Most music artists don’t even own their own music because the record label does, so I don’t think just asking the artists works. That’s exactly why there’s licensing that covers record labels themselves.Yes. I don’t think ASCAP applies to educational settings. But no idea how that applies internationally.
Very possible. Out of my group of gym fans who’ve been to almost every worlds since 2015 (Doha and Kitakyushu were the exceptions), no one is considering going except me.
I went and there were no issues for me as a spectator. As far as the dress code goes, I don't have it, so I don't flaunt it. But there was no need for head covering, and jeans and a T shirt were fine.People who went to Doha said it wasn’t all that different. Minor things mostly.
I've started pricing out flights. The only downside is that I’ve now crossed out an entry on my con list for deciding whether to attend![]()
My guess is that they shrank the quotas to attract a host city, there is no way they would have moved forward with this change without Jakarta’s blessing.Thank goodness! I know what they were thinking but, it is was such a bad idea.
I wonder how much the organizers are pulling their hair out now?
At the non-elite level in Australia it’s not left up to chance (and rightly so, as police actually do randomly visit businesses here and ask to see that they have a licence for the music they are playing). Clubs pay a quarterly fee to a licensing company and that covers them for music they play within the club (even just for fun while training) and for non club activities like in-house competitions and displays. That's wild to me. How does that work at the junior/novice levels?
