I’m so pleased for Poppy Stickler. She is really young and has a cracking floor and vault. Lots of potential there. We haven’t seen Ellie compete for a long time. I hope she will have a comeback next year.

It did seem quite soon to be back after the injury.

Honestly I don’t expect to see either Downie make it to a major team again. They’re fragile veterans with a lot of injuries to manage, probably would need to be specialists, and that simply doesn’t fit with the selection processes BG evidently want to pursue.

Agree it’s a fab opportunity for Poppy.

Even though one has her warm up suit on, I STILL can’t tell the Gadirova twins apart! And that one is slightly taller than the other. Twins run in my family but even that experience doesn’t help! Does anyone know which twin is the elder? Jenn or Jess?

For me, part of the struggle is the almost matching names. If one was Jennifer and the other Melissa, i don’t think it would be suchba struggle. Jenn and Jess (and Asia and Alice) are too matchy for my brain to parse.

Lol IKR? In my family my aunt named my cousins Armand and George, my brother’s twin girls are Isabel and Elise, and my sister’s twins are Mathew and Jake. Not that that helped me tell them all apart when they were babies! Except for Army and Georgie. Ones a curly haired blonde, the other has straight brown hair!

My dad has an identical twin brother. They are named Edward and Edgar. Both called Ed. I could always tell them apart. But some people can’t. The weird thing is that one of their cousins suffering from Alzheimer’s could recognize my dad but not my uncle!

Jess’ double has really deteriorated. It’s actually the worst DTY on the team now. Her block has really regressed. Ondine’s is looking great and GMF had a beautiful Y1.5 in the air (shame about the landing).

So I think Jen is only competing FX? I can’t see any videos of her competing any other events?

In terms of AA standings from Podium training, I have:

1. Alice 53.9
2. GMF and Ondine 52.5
3. Jess 51.7

This would put Alice just behind Jade in the AA, and tied with Saraiva (who had a fall herself and Alice didn’t).

Important to note that Ondine had a nightmare on bars (2 falls) and still tied in the AA with GMF, so I am assuming she will be ahead if she (hopefully) hits in Q.

Jen I have a 13.0 on floor, which won’t be enough to make EF. I’m predicting needing a 13.5 ish to make it in. I also downgraded the Switch Ring and its a clear 0.3. She should nix that. It could be the difference between making EF and not.

Of note, I had Kinsella getting a 13.6 on floor - highlight of the day and I think if she repeats that in Q tomorrow she could make it into FX EF (instead of either Gadirova). I also gave her a 14.2 on bars which, also, might squeak into the bars final. GMF I have a 14.0, she’s gonna have to improve to make it in, I think.

As long as we don’t see the classic Kinsella prelims meltdown, I am predicting Kinsella and Ondine making AA, Ondine might scrape into the beam final (I gave her a 13.9 in podium with the connection I noted in the previous video but its really close and its worth a fuck ton to her D Score getting that paid), and Kinsella potentially making both UB and FX finals if she has a great Q day. Jess might make the floor final. She probably won’t make VT finals.

My (hopeful) predictions if they hit to their best in Q:

Team - They’ll make it in in 5th or 6th
AA - Alice and Ondine (although Jess might get in if she hits 4 for 4 in Q - this is gonna be tight between the three of them)
- Jess (if she cleans up those landings and gets Lopez credit for the second vault - she didn’t in Euros EF, but podium training looked better TBH)
- Alice
- Ondine and Alice (but only if she hits and makes all her connections - her composition means she has to hit everything or her CR’s fall down like a house of cards)
- Alice and Jess (if Jess goes back to the DLO I think she’s a safe bet, and Alice should make it in if she hits the front full like she did in prelims and doesn’t go OOB)

Start list confirms Fenton VT/UB/BB, Jennifer Gadirova only on FX in qualifying.

I agree they’ll make it 5th or 6th to the team final, and get two in the AA final, but if there isn’t a Gadirova in the floor final I don’t think other EF chances are great. Someone might get in on beam if they have a good day and are helped by the inevitable falls, and Jessica might make it on vault if she gets credit for the Lopez.

If Alice can hit like she did yesterday, and if she can hit beam like we know she can, I genuinely think she could make all three EFs. She’s so clean and crisp.

The AA prelims dogfight between Alice, Ondine and Jess is going to be very exciting to watch.
