I wonder if they aren’t showing falls? I’ve watched like 10 routines and no falls so far.

They’re only showing 3 on each event (4 on beam).

Okay, acknowledging I only have the scores BG just posted. I’ve not thrown in Euro trials or euro scores. These are the top six on each event, averages of the various trial events

Vault
Jess Gadirova (14.508)
Alice Kinsella (14.125)
Ellie Downie (14.1)
Georgia-Mae Fenton (14.05)
Jen Gadirova (13.925)
Kelly Sim (13.925)

Bars
Alice Kinsella (13.908)
Becky Downie (13.558)
Jess Gadirova (13.344)
Amelie Morgan (13.306)
Georgia-Mae Fenton (13.092)
Phoebe Jakubczyk (13.083)

Beam
Jess Gadirova (13.669)
Jen Gadirova (13.463)
Becky Downie (13.050
Alice Kinsella (12.913)
Amelie Morgan (12.581)
Ondine Achampong (12.55)

Floor
Jess Gadirova (14.158)
Georgia-Mae Fenton (13.175)
Jen Gadirova (13.0)
Amelie Morgan (12.731)
Phoebe Jackubczyk (12.6)
Kelly Sim (12.6)

Things swing wildly, particularly on beam, if you insist on gymnasts having at least 3 scores, and take the average of the top 3.

So I’ve judged the 13 routines BG has posted.

Interestingly they haven’t uploaded anything with a fall.

Just watched today’s videos - this is going to be such a difficult decision.

My gut feeling about who will be left out is Jen Gad (but I hope I’m wrong). I’m not convinced that GB WAG can make the Team podium unless RUS and CHN have TOTAL meltdowns (and someone breaks a limb) so the aim needs to be for random individual medals. Ellie on Vault and Becky on UB must be serious contenders. Jess Gad in current form has an outside chance in AA if other competitors aren’t bringing their A game.

Who else has a realistic chance?

The only thing that’s clear at all is that Jessica will be going.
The whole process opens up so many questions, to be honest.
How can you compare two month old scores to current scores, for a start.

The problem is that Ellie (and Becky) haven’t really had the scores in the trials they have competed in to justify them right now as medal contenders. They missed this one through absolutely awful circumstances and hopefully they do have a chance to trial again (although, in fairness, in that case they should allow everybody to if they think they can improve their scores).

GMF got a 53.5 with a fall on bars (E Score in 7.0 - video not shown).

That beats anything Amelie has shown…

Odine got a 53.7 with a solid vault and E Scores all in the 8s. Based on this Trial, and I’d want to see GMF’s bars, GMF has really given them something to think about.

Looks like Jennifer had a really bad time on floor (0.6 in OOB, low D score, 7.3 E Score) and looks like she also fell on bars. They’ve only shown her vault and beam.

Yeah - they’re not showing any routines with falls. Kinda fucking annoying.

Alice didn’t vault or do bars Day 2. And fell off beam. Though she won floor (although I had Amelie winning floor).

She had a much better Day 1. Second on bars, first on beam and floor.

Maybe they told Alice she was in after Day 1 and could drop an event for Day 2.

Jess is a lock.

Jen, I would still take her. I’ll bet they can work wonders between now and Tokyo on her, if they’re managing an injury. She’s too good not to go.

Given her scores at all the Trials, I just don’t see how you can’t take Alice. She’s consistently posting in the top 2 scores on every event (although I do think her floor was overscored, Day 2).

I think the 4th spot depends on:
  1. If Amelie can show a DTY - pick her.
  2. If Becky can show a reliable 15 on bars - pick her.
  3. If Ellie can show a Cheng/DTY that would be in the hunt for a VT medal, and a 53-54 AA - pick her.
If none of those happen by the end of May, thereby removing any possibility of an Olympic medal anyway, then I’d take GMF, and have those 3 all go to Worlds instead.

Odine needs to up her FX and bars difficulty to be in the mix. Beautiful gymnast though. Certainly she should be in the Worlds conversation.

Okay, trying again. Top 6 based on all trials scores/top 6 based on top 3 scores (must have at least 3 scores). As others have noted, the only thing clear is Jessica Gadirova is going to Tokyo. Everything else…shrug.

I don’t see how Alice isn’t on the team, although I do feel that people will question it regardless.
