That's very confident, fluent work for someone who had time out. I'm assuming the scores are as unreliable as the usual domestic numbers, but Leat has now had two 13s in a fortnight.
Maybe we'll see her get an assignment this year.
She ended up being English beam and AA champion off the back of it! Also floor. Fair to say she has made her comeback.A switch half that isn't dumpy and sad, be still my heart.
She had some clean up ankle surgery and will be out till after Euros. She mentioned that she will hopefully be back for Worlds.Where is Abi Martin?
I suppose it depends if Kinsella/GMF are really on hiatus or will turn up to the British.Anyone else feel uneasy about Becky’s inability to retire? It feels like an unhealthy trauma response. I’d much rather see her move on to something else.
I’m guessing the euros team will be Jess Gadirova, Evans, Stacey, Stone and Leat? Davies I guess if Evans is too injured.
My point is that it feels very different to the examples you’ve given.Becky can retire when she wants to retire. If she wants to continue good for her. Not sure why it is an assumption on being trauma based.
Oksana is still competing.
Gabby came back 12 years later. Memmel 9.
If gymnasts still love what they do, have at it.
GMF was at Lilleshall recently. I suspect we'll see her at some point this year, albeit maybe not for Euros.I suppose it depends if Kinsella/GMF are really on hiatus or will turn up to the British.
With Chusovitina it’s financial. Whilst she’s still able to do the skills that can make her money on the World Cup circuit, then it makes sense for her to continue even if Olympic qualification isn’t realistic. If she had another way of making decent money, I don’t think she’d still be competing. If she still feels she's "got it" and is willing/able to do the training, go for it. Maybe there isn't anything other than fitness and gymnastics that she wants to be doing. I gotta say, I'd rather see her go out on top than limping along like Oksana. (Limping along meaning technically able to do most of the skills but never getting any better at them--form or difficulty-wise. Chusa's form is just as bad as it was 20 years ago and basically the rest of the world has really improved in that aspect so it is even more obvious)
