Things start getting a little more interesting now. Get to see UCLA make their first cross-country meet and see how they respond. Mich-Mich state, rivalry of course. Bama-Kentucky, Arky-Aub a group of squads there that are on cusp of breaking into the top of the SEC evening session convo. Fl-LSU of course. My bet is Finnegan will get the first 10 of the season Friday night. PMac will demand a 10 somewhere in there. Now everyone will have at least 2 meets under their belts so more clarity on season narratives. Fun!

Granted, a lot of teams did not have a meet in week 1 this year, but just as a comparison to last season:
Week 2, 2025- 3 teams with an average of 197.000 or higher, 14 teams with an average of 196.000 or higher
Week 2, 2024- 8 teams with an average of 197.000 or higher, 27 teams with an average of 196.000 or higher

It's too early to tell whether the judging is making most of this difference, and even if it were, there were still plenty of loose scores in Week 2. But, I think we can't say that the judging so far is making no difference.

Not sure if this link is helpful or not 🤣

I don't know who is calling the Utah-Iowa State meet, but I am regretting my decision to watch. I want to attack my eardrums with a rusty knife so I never have to risk hearing them again.

I thought achilles at first, but watched it a second time and it looked like she crunched the hell out of both ankles. I wish I hadn't gone back that second time to try to see what happened. Not willing to watch again. I have no doubt that it will end her season. I feel awful for her and her team. I was really excited to see her having a successful year.

Utah needed Avery Neff to compete for the national title.
Without her, IDK. Let's hope it is not season ending.

Interesting results from last night. Watched that Avery Neff injury, just horrible, and she was crushing her freshman campaign. Im sorry, Carly just gives weird vibes., I don't think she checked on her once I don't think Utah had a shot this year anyway, but without Neff, extremely difficult.

Florida/LSU was interesting, Pmac scoring was in effect, but it was good to see Florida put a workable floor rotation out there and actually look the part with LSU. Rough go for Bama away from home. Quite a difference between last week. I am getting a little concerned about Arkansas. Of course plenty of time, but I really thought they were going to come out showing more strength with Josc (although she has done her part). OU was dominant but at the same time looked somewhat human with non-sticks and wobbles. How about Pederson?! Neff and Chio have gotten a lot of the attention as freshies but she has been right there. And so so so happy for Hu to get that 10. I was certain it was coming during the LSU meet.

Looking forward to see if UCLA shows consistency from last week or jet lag.

Just watched OU v Mizzou.
Gorgeous beam by Helen Hu. Nothing like it in the NCAA. Pure art.
Well deserving of the 1st 10 this season and also the first of her career.
