And the neck looks weirdly uncomfortable. Too loose to stay put, too thick not to chafe…

It’s like wearing a bedazzled turtleneck. It does look horrendously uncomfortable but Simone seems to like the tall-neck leos so maybe they’re not that bad?

I think the Brazil leo would have been better in, say, national colors and without the weird cutout.

I like the bodice of the Brazil Leo, but the rest looks so awkward and uncomfortable.

Italy’s light blue Leo could be pretty multi-purpose if they added a flowy skirt and took up figure skating.

I know the Brazil leo is insane but I thought it was stunning on all the wearers. Certainly we will not wonder if a pic is from the legendary competition where they won their first team medal.

I suddenly remembered something about Brazil’s leotards. Jade Barbosa’s father designs them (or did anyway)

I remember hearing that when Jade first medalled at Worlds in 2007 and the leotards were… weird. Lots of circles and squares sometimes set inside each other, that sort of thing.

He’s an architect, right? Because I could definitely see an architect coming up with those mid 2000s leotards. These? Not as much, unless he developed a love for bling.

Thorsdottirs sleeves would make a great USA Leo. Red, white and blue must be a bit hard to work with.
Like Saraivas, apart from the weird neckline.

Brazil’s tonight looked like a polo shirt. I think that Godwin’s was my favourite of this round.

I actually LOVED Brazil’s AA leo.

Award for strangest leos this Worlds goes to Romania, with their random bird/feathers designs.

Apparently, the theme of that ‘that’ leo, which many thought was either an American eagle or a Russian-ish eagle, is that it is a phoenix rising from the ashes, as the ROU program is rising from the ashes. I’m sure many pigeons in Republic Square (used to be Piata Palatului) are laying claim to being the inspiration!
