Today is signing day for the class of 2023!

Caitlin Smith is entering early and walking on, i believe. She is also red shirting this season due to shoulder surgeries.

Interesting. College Gym News said they’ve confirmed she’s on scholarship, but it would be weird for Oklahoma to bring her early just so she can be on scholarship an extra year if she’s planning on redshirting.

Moorea Linker medically retired too so…maybe that is why she is coming early?

On Smith’s signing post, she doesn’t look like she’s signing an NLI, so maybe she is walking on? Danae Fletcher joined a year early just to redshirt for that season so maybe Smith has other reasons for why she wants to join early? Trying to understand scholarships is so confusing lol

Smith is joining early and walking on. She needs another surgery and by being there early she can have the OU docs do it. This is why she is redshirting as well. Im not sure if the shoulder surgeries will allow for a return on all events, which may be why she is walking on instead.

Sydney Barros signed with UCLA. But more interesting: she’s bak at Texas Dreams and FIG approved a nationality change to Puerto Rico.
