I’ll be there for the opening ceremony and all the gymnastics. I’ve also got athletics, hockey, netball, basketball, badminton and beach volleyball tickets.

All the 10 year London anniversary posts are making me very emotional and I feel really old (also bitter about the state of the country but that’s a whole other rant). I can’t think of a better way to celebrate the anniversary than going back to live sport and making some more memories.

MAG sub 2 is on now. I don’t recognise most of the names and only following between work stuff, but I did notice Rhys is top of pommels qualifying with 14.350. Difficulty 5.7, execution 8.650. That’s a decent score under the new code, no? Obviously he will make the final with it.

Moldaeur won Pan American Championships with 13.200

Asian Championships was won by Abu Al Soud Ahmad of Jordan with 15.233 (6.3/8.933)
second was 14.800 (5.9/8.900) from Kazakhstan, Nariman Kurabanov. 3rd was 14.600 (6.5/8.100) from Yin Dehang of China.

Al Soud Ahmad is not qualified to Worlds as of yet, Kurabanov is likely to be on the Kazakh team, but unsure if Yin will be there for China.

But yeah 14.500 should be enough to make event finals most likely, but will need a bit more difficulty to get into the medals.

A little bit of the routine here, haven’t found full footage yet.

Wales are currently winning but they’re the only team to have done 18 routines thus far, so only to be expected. 236.300 total and I haven’t paid nearly enough attention to MAG this year to guess whether they might hope for bronze with that.

Cyprus MAG are putting up some bigger numbers. If they can stay on pommels they could win a team medal.
Australia in the hole after counting a 10 on rings. Looks like Tyson Bull either fell or made a major mistake on high bar. His 13.250 is being dropped.
England running away with the team title. Already 1st ranked on floor, pommels, rings, and vault.
Canada is looking great for silver, but lets see how high bar goes.

Wales likely to drop out of the top 6 as Canada currently in 4th need only 11.966 average to pass them. New Zealand, currently 7th is fighting for 6th and need 12.975 average on parallel bars and high bar to pass Wales. It is definitely doable but they need to hit.
Exciting men’s meet!

England: Achampong, Fenton, Kinsella AA, Simm VT,UB Fragapane BB,FX. No one doing two vaults. There are 13 gymnasts in total competing for 8 spots in the vault final

Australia only have Georgia Godwin and Emily Whitehead doing AA, so no 2pc question for them.

Not sure about the listing for Wales. Is Mali Morgan a vault specialist?

Cyprus takes home their first ever team medal at the Commonwealth Games. Huge deal for their program. Australia just made too many mistakes. The Mitchell Morgans rings disaster cost them the team silver. They really should have beaten both Canada and Cyprus.
New Zealand fell apart on high bar to allow Wales the chance to grab 6th.

That was an exciting competition. England of course was always going to win gold (barring absolute disaster).
Joe Fraser had his appendix removed around 6 weeks ago and has an ankle injury (information from his instagram). To perform as he did is simply astounding really.
Really thought Cyprus had blown it, so pleased they got the bronze.
