Spencer from TBBS is doing quickhits, so unless he’s here there must be some way. Peacock?

So weird because this is the first year this has happened…so it is probably because of England/BBC.
It’s been on YouTube in 2014 and 2018.

Top 10 after this rotation should be safe for the AA final. With just Australia, Canada, Wales and England in the final sub, they can only advance a max of 8.

This team score from South Africa would have been enough to beat Egypt and make Worlds.
Bodes well for 2023 though, hopefully they will continue to improve and compete more internationally.

Looks like India is out of the team competition. Samanta only doing vault.

Bizarro.

Scotland are in first and about a point ahead of SA after three events. SA did have a pretty good showing on floor though, so could be close.

And she could have had a nasty accident doing that - maybe too shaken up to continue?

This is crazy. Gymnasts from Namibia unable to compete here because FIG recognises another federation to the one the National Olympic Committee does.
Also, apparently there was an issue with Annalise Newman-Achee and bars. She kept hitting her feet on the mat and apparently FIG wouldn’t fix the issue, which this person was not very clear on.

I saw that on twitter. They had the full post screenshot

She can’t be the only tall gymnast to have this issue, though?. Derweal is at least 5"7, as is Fenton.

However, I do agree that the bars should be able to be raised further if necessary.

Why is here even a bar limitation to begin with. Seems unnecessary, especially if you are allowed to raise the bar to accommodate taller gymnasts.

Appears to be another senseless rule put in place.

Is there any advantage for other athletes or safety issues that I have missed, for the reason to have this in place?

I guess it could help you land your dismount if you got an additional foot of height to start with. But if they made it a ratio to gymnast height or just blanket upped the height to be more inclusive, fairness can be maintained.

Scotland need an average of 12.65 on floor to pass SA…
They didn’t do it. Bars was the deciding factor here.
147.750 to 146.500.
South Africa should finish 5th, however 12.312 is the average the other teams need to beat and as we saw from Australia MAG, counting a 10 in a rotation can be seriously harmful to a team’s medal prospects. We shall see what happens, but Wales will need to hit or face the chance of finishing below South Africa.

We’ve also not got an A Team from Canada, so anything could happen.
