Don't forget to deduct .5 for the abomination that is the switch ring 1/2
It wasn't 0.5.

I know, it's a joke, the skill is just ugly most of the time. Because this is what it looks like mid-air:

The best version of the skill is when it's done with the ring position after the 1/2 turn, so you don't get this icky gnarled body shape (but most people don't have the flexibility to do a great ring position after the turn).

The WAG committee has even forced the skill to look ugly, by disallowing it to be performed with the ring position after the 1/2 turn. It's like they want to win a prize for biggest parade of nonsense.

Beginning with the 2025 - 2028 COP, a gymnast can show the ring position at any time during a switch ring leap 1/2 and still receive credit. However, for the split ring leap 1/2, the ring position still must be shown before the 1/2 turn to receive credit.

Would love for him to put it all together in competition. He deserves to win a world championship with that kind of routine, but so far in competition he always leaves one of the skills out. He just competed at the Australian championships and scored 13.8

It's the leg separations on the Deff and the Pogorolev and late turn on the Healy that kill his E-score.

I actually wrote to him about the Healy, suggesting he take it out and count a giant. He said "I basically just see the Healy as I don’t gain anything or lose anything - but it gives me a 0.2 higher SV for selection for Worlds than a giant would which is favourable for the meantime".

I firmly disagree. He can do a clean el-grip giant for a B (between the jam and the Pogorolev. Actually, a Russian giant for a C could go there, but those are hard to learn for most guys, I think). That's only a loss of 0.1 in D-score but he could do it cleanly for 0.3 or 0.5 back in E-score.
