The UC regents met today to discuss options.

The ACC is thinking about absorbing Cal and Stanford.

The word is either they will take both or neither. People are putting the odds about 50/50 this happens.

Probably by the time most people read this something else even more bizarro will happened.

I’m actually a bit shocked Cal and Stanford weren’t wanted by the Big Ten. Beyond sports, they are both member of the Association of American Universities, which B10 considers to be a requirement to join.

Nebraska used to be an AAU member, but was voted out after Big Ten had already accepted them.

Yeah I guess Big Ten and Big 12 said no more universities.

I think it was stupid of Big Ten not to take either Cal or Stanford. With UCLA, USC, Washington, and Oregon these 6 could have been the “West Division” with the current West Division going to “Central Division” and East Division staying the same.

Then it wouldn’t really be Big 10 but Big 20.
