Guilty pleasure of mine that I’ve rewatched more times than I should admit.

Can’t write more right now but I’ll be back with thoughts!

I love this show actually. So many people think its cringe, so maybe I'm unique in this.

I actually found the portrayal of Kaylie's eating disorder to be pretty realistic, though I do dislike how they never show her eating or that struggle.

Not sure how realistic it is that Payson seems to come back pretty quickly from breaking her back and how she seems to be able to do skills without training them since she's come back.

Tbf Kaylie’s VT and BB dismount changes from episode to episode and Sasha’s VT coaching consists of telling Emily “if you can do a yurchenko full then you can do a 1.5”. Skill development is unrealistic for everyone.

I did like Sasha's emphasis on trust with Emily though. It is important to trust your coach.

I'm right at the part right now where Emily finds out she is pregnant and Sasha seems to have nothing to say which I do find a bit odd.

I agree that Emily’s trust issues were a good throughline. Previously I’ve found Emily’s scenes boring and I tended to double screen them, but this time round I’m finding the Emily-Damon story more impactful. A few years ago I did a rewatch where it was the parental storylines that really hit home. The joy of rewatching!

I’m behind you, they’ve just come back from the Calais comp and done the MAG vs WAG battle for gym space (still funny). You have some fun plots ahead of you! Please keep posting your reactions.

Yea the battle for gym space was funny.

I like the Emily scenes because I relate to her and Kaylie the most. Emily in the aspect of trust issues and Kaylie with the eating disorder. I haven't found the time to watch any more of it in like the last week. Wondering if Kaylie will return to the sport or not atm. I know my eating disorder was part of my reason for quitting so I wouldn't be surprised.

Kinda mad at myself that I gave away my DVD collection of the series several years ago. Would love to do a rewatch.

This whole pregnancy thing with Emily is killing me. Is she really giving up on olympic prospects for a baby? Like I kinda get it but at the same time really???

I do like that Kaylie is back finally!

The actress was pregnant. There wasn’t any other way to handle it except killing the character. 😳

ooooh. My mom and I were wondering why her character seemed to just disappear.

The whole one legged landing of Payson's at Worlds in Rio was um... interesting.

Just starting the episode where they are at the training center for camp.

The change of scenery and dynamics for the camp season is refreshing.

I just watched the new floor choreography episode for the first time since starting adult gymnastics. Can definitely now relate to Emily in terms of how difficult it is to manage dance when you've never been trained.

I know it was completely innocent, but as one of the welfare officers for my club I couldn't help but imagine the incident report forms that would need completing for a coach taking a minor to the ballet!

Yea I definitely struggled with dance as a younger teen because I had never been technically trained. Took a couple ballet classes to remedy that though and it was fine.

You would need incident report forms even if the parent was ok with it? Interesting.

So Lauren has a heart arrythmia??? Does she get to come back or is she just done? They sent her to the doctor during NGO cuts but is she done or coming back? Confused.

I'm completely incapable of watching any TV programme / film that covers any kind of job or activity I'm ever been even tangentially involved in without doing a running commentary of "Well that would never happen" or "but what about..."

I'm great fun to be around, as you can imagine.

Yep, this is definitely a British thing.

A few years back I was at a wedding and shared a table with someone who's a pathologist - I made the mistake of making a Silent Witness joke and spent the next two hours listening to the most extraordinary rant you've ever heard. When I asked why he didn't just not watch it he looked confused and said "Because I have to see how wrong it will be this week".

Its hilarious and just not a thing with people from other countries. My dad has lived in Britain for 30 years now, but I’ve seen him, Soviet born and raised boxer, sit through the entirety of Rocky without one single comment regarding authenticity. I can’t watch Angelina Ballerina with my children without commenting that she’s doing it wrong. She’s an animated mouse.
