Indonesia cancels visas of Israeli worlds team

If there were credible terrorism threats, I doubt that the Israeli athletes would have learned via social media that their visas had been cancelled.

If they did, the manner of communication would be another large problem on top of the threats themselves.

Completely typical. They “hope” and do nothing to make it happen. It’s ridiculous that they can get away with a nothing statement like this but the athletes who win medals are going to have to answer questions about it in the press conferences.

Indonesia did not want to risk further domestic unrest, and they could not guarantee the safety of Israeli athletes. It's just a shame that no one figured this out, say, six months ago.

Indonesia is a predominantly Muslim country. The government doesn’t recognize Israel.

Revoking Israelis' visas at the last minute is manipulative. A country that can't host all FIG member-states eligible to compete shouldn't be permitted to host worlds.

Well, speaking on manipulative, Thailand limited the amount of medals to 1 (one)per athlete at the SEA Games in December for the gymnastics events. If the athlete qualifies for more than one event final, they have to choose which one they will compete in. Utterly ridiculous!
