Agreed. The ancestry.com stuff did not make a lick of sense. But I was surprised at her response to MyKayla -- she was a good deal kinder than most people were.
She’s been in similar shoes. Not sure how long ago it was that she victim blamed the Nassar accusers, got backlash and then came out as a victim herself.

That was 2017, and I thought the same. Both women have been in very abusive systems, both repeated some bullshit abuser trope, both caused a lot of hurt when they did it, both got roasted and maybe lost out financially as a consequence.

I don’t think this is new but it’s still great to see the quality of what she’s been doing!

Well now, that's interesting. And especially since it was kept relatively quiet, given all the drama last year about her leaving then returning.

There was a "Goodbye Gabby" IG post from one of the younger gymnasts, no I can't find it.

Since this is kinda a dead year competition-wise, maybe she is preserving her body for later in the quad. She clearly has the talent to get back to almost top level within a year or two, so maybe she is pacing it.

I hope we get another long retired former champion doing a comeback in 2028. Or either of the previous ones again, even. It's starting to become a thing I expect the US to supply during Olympic years.

I think what are about to see is an explosion of NCAA gymnasts with dual nationality
