I thought Poland rather than Hungary? I could be wrong of course.Portugal and Hungary
The same oldWhat is France doing this time that would make her want to switch?
I’m sure it’s Portugal from her mother’s side and Hungary from her father’s. Colas sounds pretty Hungarian.I thought Poland rather than Hungary? I could be wrong of course.
'Colas' absolutely doesn't sound Hungarian. It could be that portuguese part of Elena's ancestry, but could be also French (or Italian, or Spanish).I’m sure it’s Portugal from her mother’s side and Hungary from her father’s. Colas sounds pretty Hungarian.
I sadly think it's exactly the case here. IIRC French federation wanted a centralized national training system and wanted Chirilcenco (former Nemour and current Colas coach) to coach there. He refused as he did not want to leave his club (Avoine-Beaumont), and that's how the feud started. So I am absolutely not in the know of the basics of either situation but if it is as MaryClare describes, moving countries to maintain an abusive coaching relationship is messed up. If an adult athlete chooses to work with Maggie Haney-esque coaching, fine. A parent keeping their kid with an abusive coach is sick shit. As long as the federation isn't labeling coaches bad just because they don't play the game the way the fed wants. If Aimee Boorman had been labeled because she stopped taking Simone to camps and Martha wanted her there, for example. Without all the details, it is possible both sides might have valid points or both be awful.
Tldr: I know nothing about any of the main characters in this drama.
