E-mail notifications of topics

How do I turn those off?
The e-mails I get are driving me nuts but I cannot seem to find how to turn this off. Please help?

Click on the little symbol on the top right hand corner, click the silhouette of a person and then click preferences. Email settings will appear on the left side, and can be turned off.
