I posted in the Euros thread, but specific to GB for Euros, the start list is showing Alice, Ondine and Jessica to be doing AA. Jennifer for BB and FX, and GMF for VT and UB.

Hmm. That seems a sufficiently odd choice of events for Jennifer that it’s likely injury/protection related? She is legitimately the worst at bars on that team but a much better vaulter than GMF. Interesting that GMF is the one to get dropped on beam too, although I suppose they were always going to have to leave out someone who could make the final.

I’m surprised GMF is vaulting. Jen must be injured. Did she vault in podium?

Jen only did a FTY at British Championships. Not sure what the problem is (injury/growth?).

I suppose they’ll go with Jess, Alice and Ondine in TFs. And obviously the bars lineup will be minus the Gadirovas, so the question is just beam and floor really. If both Gadirovas are used on both then at least that means Alice and Ondine can’t both do AA on Saturday as well.

I’m worried about Odine’s bar dismount. Nixing it down to a double tuck is only worth 0.4 and I think it would be prudent to do so.

Yeah the late turn looks a bit scary at times and it finally caught her out today.

I literally cannot believe the person picking the team is also the coach of one of the gymnasts being selected. It just beggars belief.

Although it doesn’t affect the absurdity of the selection procedures, they obviously made a great choice with Alice.

She has clearly become the backbone of the team not just in performance but in being team captain. It is clear the other girls look to her as leader and to help them compete.

If J and J Gadirova are not so good on UB, then, sadly, they cannot do AA. If they are good on other routines, they can be specialists. I hope J and J are given a good specialty.

The one that I see as AA material is Alice Kinsella.

Ok so tomorrow is Jess on vault having qualified in 2nd, bars Alice and GMF who were 6th and 7th respectively. Beam is just Ondine, she was 6th in qualifying but her set today was the 2nd highest score of the championship so far, and floor is the Gadirovas. I’m going to say a couple of minor medals but no golds.

Well, I think Euros went about as well as it could for GB WAG considering how tired 3/5 of the team must have been. I hope they get a rest before they start trialling for worlds.
