I think you’ve just taken the initial comment way too personally and out of context and now you’re just rambling in your overreaction because you don’t actually know what you’re objecting to.
There is a well established view that women athletes in artistic sports are objectified and glamourised in ways that those in other sports are not. It’s the reason why many people dislike the heavy makeup and blinged up leotard look. Because it presents the sport in a certain way and plays to certain misconceptions about the sport and its athletes that I think we’d all agree are negative and should be discouraged. That your daughter (or anyone else) enjoys it, feels confident, empowered etc or whatever excuse you want to give, doesn’t mean that the bigger issue doesn’t exist.
