Although I’d loved watching the Sydney Olympics, we didn’t have internet at home so no easy way to keep up to date with the competition schedule. And so, on a rainy Sunday afternoon, I stumbled across the 2nd day of event finals on bbc.

I think it was the last world championships broadcast on uk terrestrial television until 2006? No europeans either, it was all on Eurosport. Between Ghent and Athens all that was shown on the bbc was the Glasgow Grand Prix.

Sounds right on the 01-04 quad. I didn't really follow between Ghent and Athens which in retrospect is probably why.

Possibly the BBC showed 05 worlds though? I remember a looooot of fuss being made of Beth's 4th place AA and I'm about 2/3 sure it was them.
